How Does Our Diabetes Treatment Benefit You?

Diabetes mellitus, also known as Diabetes is a metabolic disease which causes elevation in blood glucose levels. The hormone insulin transfers sugar from the blood to the cells, which is stored and used for energy supply. In diabetic conditions, the body either does not produce insulin adequately or is not able to use the produced insulin effectively. If diabetes is left untreated, it may cause damage to nerves, eyes, kidneys and other organs.
“Madhumeha” is the term for Diabetes in Ayurveda, which means ‘Sweet urine’. The manifestation of diabetes is through thirst or urination. According to Ayurveda, Kapha Dosha is responsible for Diabetes, as Kapha disorders are related to obesity and is triggered with over consumption of sweet food or increase in ingestion of Kapha impacting foods. When there is intake of such foods, the poor pancreatic function increases Kapha in the stomach, which leads to turbidity or frequent urination.
Further, Diabetes mellitus is caused due to accumulation of Vata Dosha. Vata dosha accumulates in the large intestine and travels to the pancreas, which hampers its functioning.
Sometimes, Pitta Dosha also leads to diabetes. This is when Pitta gets accumulated in the small intestine before moving to the liver and may cause damage to pancreas. As the main constituent of Pitta is Agni, it burns out pancreas leading to Diabetes.
If the above things are taken into consideration, the treatment of Diabetes in Ayurveda starts with proper cleansing of the body and balancing of doshas. The treatment is based on a person's body composition and which dosha is dominant. The treatments like Dhara, Udwarthanam, Thalam, etc are followed to reverse diabetes. The treatment also includes Panchakarma and Keraleeya procedures to address the root cause of disease. We have seen many patients successfully reversing Diabetes and now living a healthy life.

Understand how we can help you with Diabetes Reversal ..

Pre Diabetes

Pre Diabetes is a condition in which the blood glucose is higher than normal, but not much that it can be diagnosed as type 2 diabetes. In this condition, the cells in the body do not respond properly to insulin, and so, the pancreas tries to make more insulin to get the cell's response. This further makes it difficult for pancreas to keep up, and thus, blood sugar levels rise, setting a pre-diabetic stage.
EliteAyurveda treatment for diabetes in its early stages focuses on avoiding additional blood sugar rises by dietary and lifestyle changes, as well as herbal remedies. This eliminates the need for injections for the rest of one's life and considerably minimizes the chance of organ damage later on. Diabetes Reversal is achievable in many cases.

Chronic Diabetes

Chronic diabetes includes type 1 and type 2 diabetes. In this, the body is either unable to produce adequate insulin or is not able to use the produced insulin. When this is the case, the glucose remains in the bloodstream, and over a period of time starts causing health problems.
Chronic diabetes treatment focuses on lowering insulin dosages while controlling blood sugar levels and maintaining a high metabolism to avoid lethargy. To revitalize the body and prevent additional complications, certain herbs and Rasayanas are recommended. Diabetes Reversal is achievable in many cases.

Advanced stage Diabetes and Diabetic complications

In this stage of diabetes, the blood sugar levels are abnormally high due to insulin resistance and beta cell dysfunction. Further, it causes damage within the vascular system leading to complications like albuminuria, chronic kidney disease, coronary artery disease, heart failure, peripheral neuropathy and stroke.
Treatment for advanced stage cancer, particularly for those with comorbidities (complications), focuses on increasing overall quality of life with individualized Rasayanic treatment, diets, and modest lifestyle changes. A special importance is given on reducing the risk of additional deterioration.
